Portico Course on 2024 WVUMC Goals

By Ken Willard

There is now a Portico course available to everyone in the WV conference which covers our 2024 goals.

Learners can find that course at the top of their Portico home page. It is one of the courses they should see scrolling across the screen. They can also find it in the course catalog section.

This is not meant to take the place of any other communication, including my trips to each district area to meet with pastors and laity. It does allow us to share the goals with people who are unable to attend these sessions, and it gives leaders a way to share this with others in their churches. One way for us to emphasize the connection, is to help everyone see and hear how important their roll is in our goals . . . even if they and their churches are not directly a part of any of the three specific goals.

Here are three ways every single person in the conference can be involved in our goals:

  1. Be in prayer for the conference and where God is calling us to go this year. Specific prayers for each goal.
  2. Stay informed. Follow the conference communications on our website and in the conference newsletter. (and district newsletters and emails)
  3. Encourage those people and churches who do have a direct involvement in any of the goals. Reach out. Tell them they are being prayed over.

Being a connectional church is what we are called to be. Let’s strengthen that connection this year.

“For just as the body is one and has many members, and all the members of the body, though many, are one body, so it is with Christ.” 1 Corinthians 12:12

We have had some great conversations in Greenbrier Wesleyan, Little Kanawha, and Nine Rivers. I look forward to being in the rest of our district areas soon.

Blessings,
