Training Certification Requirements:
- Certified Lay Servant – Complete the Basic Course and any Advanced Course. In the chart above, all courses not labeled basic are Advanced Courses
- Certified Lay Speaker – Complete the Basic Course and six specific Advanced Courses: Preaching, Public Prayer, Leading Worship, Spiritual Gifts, UM Beliefs, Polity. Courses which qualify for these specific advanced courses are labeled in the Purpose Column*.
- Certified Lay Minister – First, be certified as a Certified Lay Servant OR a Certified Lay Speaker, and then complete Curriculum for Certified Lay Ministers. Contact Kim Matthews (kimmattews@umfwv.org), AC Director of Lay Servant Ministries, for more information.
