First UMC – Parkersburg Collects PPE for Jefferson Elementary Center

By WV UMC Admin

First UMC – Parkersburg knew the needs of the Jefferson Elementary Center this year would be especially unique. In order to help meet the need for personal protective equipment (PPE), First UMC – Parkersburg collected disinfectant wipes and facial masks for the school. The school bus in the photo was made by our own Mr. Rich Shaffer, and shows some of the donations. First UMC – Parkersburg has been able to donate 3,000 masks and approximately 75 canisters of wipes so far! This will be an on-going project throughout the school year.

Pictured with the school bus is Karmen Whitehair (granddaughter of Cindy Lucas, First UMC’s secretary).  She is a fourth-grader at Jefferson and attends in person 2 days a week (blended learning format).  Virtual school is held 3 days a week for students via an iPad.  Karmen loves school and wishes she could go 5 days a week.

What a great Glory Sighting of First UMC – Parkersburg being the hands and feet of Christ!
