Are you looking for ways to provide practical experience and serve by putting your hands and feet to work?

Check out the suggestions below for ways that people in the West Virginia Conference Area are already building bridges by contributing tangible assistance in their communities.

Engage in one of these important ministries or let it inspire you to find what works in your context.

Heart and Hand Philippi

Thrift Store Sorting: our Belington Thrift Store can always use a helping hand in sorting, separating, hanging and displaying items for sale. Current store hours are Monday-Friday, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
General cleaning: volunteers who are willing to help with some general cleaning chores at our various ministry sites -- sweeping, dusting, mopping, washing windows, etc. -- are always appreciated. This could also include vacuuming and washing vehicles.
Throughout the year:
Summer Feeding Program - packing bag lunches and delivering to feeding sites three days a week, June-August (right now there are only two locations, but that may be changing this summer).
Backpack Feeding Program - packing backpack food bags and delivering to six county schools by Thursday of each week, September-May.
Belington Thrift Store -  sorting, separating, hanging and displaying items for sale; Monday-Friday, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Monthly Food Pickup - loading and unloading food delivery from Mountaineer Food Bank; fourth Friday of every month around 11:30 a.m.
Christmas Basket Program - sorting, separating and packing items for our annual Christmas distribution in December.
