West Liberty Campus Ministry Serves Local Food Pantry

The United Methodist Church is connectional in so many ways and in Campus Ministry we try to connect our students to the mission field.  Students like hands-on work, so as I was speaking with College 101 freshmen classes in the fall semester, I offered an opportunity to serve in the community at our local food pantry at Hope United Methodist Church.  We’ve had faculty, staff, and students occasionally volunteer in the past, but this year, three young women consistently volunteer to help.

Veronica Huggins, Audrey Shreve, and Sydney Wedeven (seen in the video) have given of their time all year at the pantry allowing Campus Ministry to continue making connections with other churches and within the Wheeling community. West Liberty University Campus Ministry also receives financial support from the New Life United Methodist Church, the sister charge of Hope UMC, to provide for our own food ministry, Tuesday Table Talk, on campus.  All these connections strengthen our impact on campus, with students, and community at large.
