2022 Lenten Devotionals

By Kristi Wilkerson

The ground hog recently made its prediction for six more weeks of winter. While some may delight in wintertime, many others are ready for a new season of springtime. Even though it seems like we just celebrated Epiphany, all of us as Christians, ready or not, will soon experience a new season in the church year: Lent.

On March 2, we observe Ash Wednesday and begin our Lenten journey.  (Don’t forget to use up your eggs, sugar, and butter on Shrove Tuesday as we prepare for a time of reflection and confession. If you aren’t familiar with Shrove Tuesday, look it up and share with a friend – it makes for interesting conversation as you connect with another!)

Laity from throughout the WV Conference have once again provided thoughtful and meaningful devotionals to walk alongside us through the Lenten season. Individuals, Sunday School classes, book study groups, families, and entire churches are invited to read and reflect using these daily devotionals throughout Lent in preparation for Christ’s crucifixion and, ultimately, resurrection.

Won’t you invite a friend to journey with us? This is the perfect time to connect with another and share the season of Lent with them! To sign up to receive daily Lenten devotionals, go to https://www.wvumc.org/conference-email-subscription/   Also, a link to the website with individual devotionals and a PDF booklet of them all will soon be available.
