Disability Awareness Dates for June

By WVUMC News

Greetings in the name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. As we begin the summer months, we have vacations, picnics, etc. on our minds as we think of fun in the sun. I invite you to also think about those that may not be able to get out and enjoy the sun or those that might need an extra hand in getting out to do things. No matter the season we need to continue to think about all God’s children, especially those that have challenges in doing things that many of us take for granted.

As we look at June, I lift a few things to remember:

June 17 is CDKL5 Awareness day. This is a rare genetic disorder in the making of protein in the body. www.cdkl5.com

June 23 is Dravet Syndrome Awareness Day. This is a type of epilepsy with seizures that can begin as early as 6 months old. www.dravetfoundation,org

June is Tourette Syndrome Awareness Month. This is a nervous system disorder that causes involuntary movement and sound. www.tourette.org

I hope to see everyone at Annual Conference! Stop by and say hi at the ministry fair table in the gym.

God’s blessing to all,
Michael Ludle
