General Conference Delegates elected at 2019 West Virginia Annual Conference

By Deborah Coble

The 2019 West Virginia Annual Conference prays for the newly elected General Conference and Jurisdictional Conference delegates.

The 2019 West Virginia Annual Conference, held last week on the campus of West Virginia Wesleyan College in Buchannon, was a time for worship, fellowship, celebration and prayer. The work of the Annual Conference was also an important part of every day. Every four years this work includes electing delegates to the General and Jurisdictional Conferences of The United Methodist Church.

The West Virginia Annual Conference elected three laity and three clergy for General Conference, an additional three laity and three clergy for Jurisdictional Conference and two laity and two clergy to serve as alternates to Jurisdictional Conference.

Immediately after the last ballot, Bishop Sandra Steiner Ball invited those elected to serve up front for prayer. Their work in preparation for the upcoming legislative gatherings will begin later this summer.
