The Lay Academy will provide educational opportunities with several 10 hour classes for those being called to Lay Ministry. Those in need of Advanced courses of education for Lay Servant Ministry and Lay Speaker requirements. All of the courses are available for personal Christian Education for those wishing to expand their Christian Growth.

The Lay Academy will take place over two weekends, April 22nd and April 29, 2023 (5 hours of instruction each weekend) at St Johns UMC, 4536 Teays Valley Rd., Scott Depot, 10 AM to 4 PM. All classes offered will provide 10 hours of instructional time. This two weekend format will provide the students ample time to study and learn. Prior study of the class chosen is encouraged before the first weekend.

Leading Public Prayer Let the Whole Church Say Amen! – Robbie Parsons CL Speaker instructor
Living Our United Methodist Beliefs: UMC Heritage – Rev. Donna Hinkle instructor
