The West Virginia Conference delegation to the Special Session of the General Conference called for February 2019 will hold Listening Sessions in each district, as requested by the 2017 Annual Conference. The listening sessions will be formatted to allow for input from all participants by having facilitator-led table conversations. Each session will be two hours in length.

All West Virginia Conference District Committees On Ministry (DCOM) will come together to learn how to consistently support leaders in ministry throughout the West Virginia Conference.
Three Courses will be offered at the MonValley District Lay Servant Academy September 22, 2018: Basic Lay Servant Ministries, Leading Prayer and United Methodist Beliefs.
Two advanced courses will be available for Lay Servant certification. Classes are open to clergy and lay who are interested in topic regardless of certification requirements or district. Registration forms may be downloaded at lkdumc.org as of the first week of August.

The Wesleyan District Fall Lay Ministry Academy will be held September 29, 2018 at Chapel Hill United Methodist Church in Buckhannon, starting at 8:00am. Three courses are being offered this season, including Basic Introduction to Lay Servant Ministry.
