A special message regarding WVUMC Annual Conference 2020

By WVUMC News

To the members of the West Virginia Annual Conference:

Grace and peace to you in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ. We join you in prayer as you continue to bear good news in your churches and communities. It brings us hope and joy to see the ways you are reimagining discipleship as we navigate the challenges brought on by COVID-19. We are amazed at the ways you are accompanying each other even while prioritizing the health and safety of the most vulnerable.  We are grateful for the generative ministries God is drawing forward. We know God isn’t finished yet.

As a team, we continue to seek God’s wisdom while we plan for our Annual Conference session in June. We are thankful for the work of the Centers for Disease Control and for the guidance of our state and national leaders. We are prayerfully monitoring their recommendations.

To that end, we are remaining flexible about how our Annual Conference may look this year. We will communicate with you by April 13 about the nature of this year’s Conference. Pastors, please ensure that the lay member from your congregation receive this information.

Thank you for your spiritual leadership in your congregation, your community, and in making disciples for Jesus Christ for the transformation of the world.

Blessings,
Bishop Sandra Steiner Ball
