Listening Circle Leader Training Offered

By WVUMC News

Rev. Janet Harman, WVAC Conflict Transformation Team Coordinator, plans to offer to all who have been CIRCLES OF GRACE facilitators these past years at Annual Conference, an opportunity to become a Listening Circle Leader in their own District.

“This is a great opportunity for our District Superintendent’s to call on trained Listening Circle Leaders to assist in a conflicted church situation prior to the calling in of Conference Conflict Team members,” said Rev. Harman. “These Listening Circle Leaders provide excellent listening skills; encourage learning about the other in order to strengthen relationships; witness to Christ in the Circle; they are aware of  ways to keep conversations moving in a positive manner; encourage ‘let’s talk; not walk away’.  Resolution may/may not occur – thus necessitating a Conflict Team to enter this conversation.”

Attendees may choose from sessions in Beckley or Bridgeport:

  • Saturday, August 17, 10am-1pm at Beckley Temple, Beckley, WV
  • Saturday, September 14, 10am-1pm at Bridgeport UMC, Bridgeport, WV

Thus far, 55 persons have said YES to being a Listening Circle Leader in their District. Won’t YOU ?
