2024 marks the 27th year that the churches of the West Virginia Conference have participated in Celebration of Mission Events with their cash gifts and tangible goods.
To inform and promote the events, the revised Celebration of Mission Booklet is now available. The booklet designates district assignments for projects’ support, a description of the ministries of each project, a “needs list” for each ministry, contact information, instructions for collecting tangible gifts and suggestions for ways to support our mission ministries through the Celebration of Mission Event.
Local churches will also plan and implement fund-raising events. Individuals should donate through their local church. Churches should deposit donations received from individuals, then mail a church check payable to “WV Conference Treasurer” along with a Remittance Form. All checks should be sent to the Conference Treasurer rather than to any of the mission ministries, so an equal distribution of cash funds can be provided for each of the ten projects supported by the Celebration of Mission Event. Likewise, it is recommended that all check remittances be sent as “Undesignated #875” which enables an equal distribution to all of the supported missions.
Our Conference Mission Ministries are dependent upon the funds and tangible goods received from the Celebration of Mission Event, and readily express their gratitude for the support given them. By their generous response over the past 26 years, and more recently during a pandemic, the churches and individual members of the WV Conference have demonstrated their confidence in the work of our mission ministries and continue to generously support them.
