Higher Education Grants Support College Ministries

The Higher Education Team is thrilled to announce that it has awarded its first round of grants for the 2024-2025 academic year. We are particularly pleased to support a diverse range of ministries and are excited about the impact funding will have throughout the conference. We celebrate connecting with three new colleges, including the University of Charleston, Davis and Elkins College, and the West Virginia School of Osteopathic Medicine.

Funding has been awarded to:

  • Spruce Street/Wesley UMC- A volunteer team will provide space for worship, prayer, and small groups for faculty, staff, and retirees.
  • Suncrest UMC- To create a Christian community for WVU students using sporting events to connect with students.
  • Lewisburg UMC- To start a dinner church gathering for students at the Osteopathic medical school in Lewisburg.
  • Marshall Wesley Foundation- A fall retreat for students and educational materials for their local board.
  • St Marks UMC- A welcome dinner for the University of Charleston Student leaders, the funds will initiate/renew a connection between St Marks UMC and the University of Charleston.
  • West Liberty University  Protestant Campus Ministry- Creating an internship opportunity to grow leaders in the ministry and funding mission programs for students.
  • Woodford Memorial UMC- We will provide meals for Davis and Elkins college students.

Grant applications are open for the Spring Semester of 2025 until November 15th, 2024. For more information, check out the website.
