Taylor:
“I worked as a counselor at Spring Heights for three summers in a row. I felt like the luckiest college student ever. I got to be outside all summer and participate in lots of fun activities. Being a counselor for children and teens also helped keep me accountable in my walk with Christ. It can be easy to stray when you’re in college, but being a leader at Spring Heights made me want to be a good role model and live my life the way Jesus would want me to. I also met some amazing people that I am close with to this day. If you’re considering working at Spring Heights, go for it! You won’t regret it.”
Dylan:
“As an international hire, I had no idea what to expect when it came to working with Spring Heights in the summer of 2019 but it was truly the best thing I’ve ever done! Not only did I get to enjoy an amazing summer filled with fun, laughs and memories that will last a lifetime, but I was also able to grow so much as a person! If you’re a past CIT or wanting to try something new this summer, I couldn’t recommend working with Spring Heights enough!”

Emma:
“Working at Spring Heights is life-changing. The friends I made I now consider my family, the opportunities I had to grow as a person were extraordinary and the connection to God was nothing I had felt before. Being a Spring Heights staff member allowed me to grow into the adult I want to be, show me examples of how to be a godly person and learn new skills I thought I would never experience. My favourite memories from camp were spending time with the horses, creek exploration and experiencing the American culture as an Aussie.”
John:
“Working at Spring Heights was an opportunity for me to grow in many different ways. I developed useful leadership skills, made great friends, and strengthened my relationship with God. I couldn’t have asked for a better summer than this one. I have loved spring heights since I was young, and becoming a staff member made me love it even more.”

Leo:
Hi, my name is Leo, and I was a camp counselor in 2018 and 2019. I am from South Africa and going to West Virginia was an incredible experience. Spring Heights has always felt like a second home. The amount of fun that is filled at Spring Heights is on another level. From the very first day to your last day at camp, I had a constant smile. I had so many laughs there. I had the best food there. I miss the Spring Heights family a lot. My faith in Christ grew every single day, and teaching the young ones all about the love of Jesus is a feeling that no one can describe. Being there for a camper and being able to answer their questions makes you feel like you are on the right track in life. The campground is massive and there is so much to do. From horse riding, to archery, to a 55-foot challenge course, to the mud pit, you will constantly be asking “what is next.” I really love Spring Heights and I think about it every day.
Macy:
“I started working at Spring Heights as soon as I could! I’ve been a camper since I was 10 and love the atmosphere of camp so much I decided to come back as staff! Working at Spring Heights allowed me to enjoy the same fun features of camp while teaching others about the wonders of God. I’ve been able to help others experience all the fun aspects of camp and be surrounded by an amazing group of staff that truly feels like family!”

Megan:
I had the pleasure of working for Spring Heights Camp and Retreat Center in many different capacities for the past 8 years. Through Spring Heights, I was able to grow in my faith, learn more about myself as a person and a leader, and pursue opportunities that shaped who I am today. I have made the best of friends, who are more like family. I have experienced adventure, faced and overcome personal challenges, and gained wisdom that I will carry with me for the rest of my life. I grew up at Spring Heights, moving from a camper to staff, and there has not been a place more special and important to me in all my years, due to the true and genuine joy, love, and grace camp has brought to my life. I love spending time with the campers, teaching God’s word, and having fun doing all the camp activities (especially challenge course). I have loved Spring Heights since the first time I stepped foot on property, and I will always love Spring Heights.
Sarah:
“In terms of the leadership skills I learned at Spring Heights, I could go on all day. I could talk about learning to lead 12 young people along the trail up to Turkey Ridge at night. I learned to multitask as I scheduled campers through the showers in the evening while braiding hair, answering questions, filling out paperwork I had neglected all day, and picking my guitar to start the wind-down process for bed. I practiced different ways of nurturing campers; some needed quiet music to sleep, a few needed fidget toys to get through Bible explo, and others needed someone to talk to who they knew would listen. I learned how to balance fun and safety during the wonderful activities Spring Heights has to offer.”

Sierra:
I worked for DaySpring Mobile Camp in 2021 and as the DaySpring coordinator in 2022. I grew up going to summer camps, but had never been to Spring Heights until the first summer I worked there. It pretty quickly became my second home and the people their my family. I got to work with DaySpring and help grow this incredible traveling ministry that took summer camp and the opportunity to learn about God and love to kids all over the state. I really believe in the work and miracles that happen at Spring Heights and feel incredibly lucky that I got to be a part of it.
