Conference Choir Returning!

By WV UMC Admin

For the first time since 2019, the Program Team is excited to welcome a Conference Choir to the Annual Conference session. People from every corner of the conference area are welcome to come and bring their gifts to glorify God through worship.

“We are so glad to bring back this perennial tradition. We had to facilitate music differently in the last few years to keep everyone safe, but I’ve missed the rich variety of voices who lend their talents to the Conference Choir,” Program Chair, Rev. Krysta Rexrode Wolfe reflected.

This year, the choir will be led by Daniel Stokes. Dan comes from the Susquehanna Annual Conference, where his home congregation, Trinity United Methodist Church, nurtured his gifts by inviting him to play for an evening service when he was only 12.

He brings a passion for music and years of faithful church leadership to this year’s choir. He has been in full time service in Nashville, Tennessee; Louisville, Kentucky; and has ministered as the choral clinician for Montreat Assembly, Lake Junaluska and Choristers Guild throughout his career.

“Dan brings enthusiasm and experience to our worship team; we are blessed to have him join us from our partners in the Susquehanna Conference,” said Wolfe.

For those wishing to join the choir, please register for Annual Conference at wvumc.org.

If you are not attending as a member, you can register as a guest by clicking “other” in the registration form. Please note, you must register online by April 30th. There are no on-site registrations. The registration process includes reserving meals and on-campus housing.

The first rehearsal for the Annual Conference choir will take place on Wednesday, June 7 at 7:00PM. More details will be emailed to those who sign up for the choir through registration.

The West Virginia Annual Conference 2023 Session will be held from Thursday, June 8-Sunday, June 11. The theme for our session is Proclaim Peace. Bring Good News!
