Glory Sighting: Faith in Action

By WV UMC Admin

Showing excellent faith in action, the Outreach/Witness Ministry Team of Simpson Memorial United Methodist (Midland South District) organized a bus trip that took a group of about 30 people from Charleston, WV to Washington, D.C. to participate in the Moral Revival March as part of the Poor People’s Campaign. From their website at www.poorpeoplescampaign.org: “[The Moral March] is NOT just a day of action. It is a declaration of an ongoing, committed moral movement to 1) Shift the moral narrative; 2) Build power; and 3) Make real policies to fully address poverty and low wealth from the bottom up.” Simpson’s Outreach/Witness team would like to thank the United Methodist Foundation of WV and WVUMC’s Ethnic Local Church Concerns for sponsoring the bus for this trip. Participants were so thankful to be able to lend their voices, presence, and support as they took steps to “fight poverty, not the poor.”
