The Congregational Care Ministry at LIFE has been focusing on physical health as well as spiritual well being. On February 24th nurses who attend the church offered free blood pressure readings after worship services. Recommendations were made to several individuals to follow up with their primary care physicians, and one gentleman, despite experiencing no symptoms, was instructed to report immediately to the emergency room after his blood pressure results read near stroke level. He was treated soon thereafter to bring his levels down and is now taking medication to treat his condition.

As a result of these events the nurses agreed to repeat this service on the first Sunday of every month. Associate Pastor Amber Baker says that “In order for our members to make disciples, they have to care for themselves first.” The nurses offering their time and talents are Molly Johnson, Cassady Rodriguez, Jessica Taylor, and Donna Wadsworth.
