Health Care Benefits

The West Virginia Annual Conference United Methodist Family Employee Medical and Dental Benefit Plan is Self-Administered and sponsored by the Pension Funds, Inc. Claims are processed through Benefit Assistance Corporation.

The medical plan is a “nongrandfathered health plan” under the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act. The dental plan is an “Excepted” benefit not subject to the Affordable Care Act regulations.

An Eligible Employee/Retiree of the Conference may enroll within sixty (60) days after becoming eligible, by making written application. There is also an annual open enrollment period each March with an effective date of April 1.

Medicare Small Employer Exemption

Eligible health plan participants, those who are still actively serving the church, will be moved to Medicare under the umbrella of the Small Employer Exception. Retirees will not be affected by this change.
