The Spiritual Formation Taskforce has been looking at John Wesley’s Understanding of the Salvation Journey. What is unique about Wesley’s understanding of the salvation journey? An integral part of salvation is striving for perfection in our lives, of people living obediently with God.

We are pleased to invite you to come to John 23rd Pastoral Center in Charleston March 29-30 to look at Wesley’s Understanding of Perfection in the Salvation Journey. Our presenter will be Rev. Angela Gay Kinkead.

The retreat will begin Friday evening March 29 at 7:00 P.M. with worship. We will close Friday evening about 9 or 9:30 P.M.

Saturday March 30 will begin with breakfast at 8:00 A.M. and the retreat will end Saturday at 3:30 P.M.
Cost of the event for those staying at John 23rd will be $ 125.00 per person. This includes lodging, meals (Saturday morning and lunch) and materials.  Commuters cost is $75.00 for meals and materials.  Friday night is on your own. Snacks are not provided.

God is not calling on us to do everything right, perfection as an action. Instead, perfection means that we are striving to live in conformity with God at work in our lives. We are striving to live in relationship/fellowship with God. Perfection is being obedient to God. Perfection is a relationship.
