The Lay Servant Academy is a comprehensive developmental program for Laity which helps people identify their calls to ministry and develop skills in caring, leading and communicating ministries. It is often the turning point for lay people who are seeking to offer significant service to both church and community.
This Academy has three Sessions:
— Basic Course (Gary Hartsog) provides a primer with basic understanding for what it is to be a United Methodist and the fundamentals necessary for effective leadership in the United Methodist Church.
— Polity Course (Rev Ken Krimmel) discusses the rules and structures that define the formal organization of the UMC. Polity is definitely part of what unites United Methodists as United Methodist; diving into what makes us us.
— Personal Financial Strength (Rev Adam Justice) present simple approaches to gaining personal financial independence and strength through management and good stewardship of one’s personal resources. An approach to de-stressing life, as John Wesley said “make all you can, save all you can, give all you can”.
