Taught by Rev. Deborah Coble, Director of Communications for the West Virginia Annual Conference of the United Methodist Church

The Lay Speaker Leading Worship course provides an overview of the components of worship. This is required course for the Certified Lay Speaker program.

Based on the Book of Worship and other resources, the course will help students understand the elements of a worship service and learn to plan worship for various services throughout the church calendar.

This is a small group study. Attendance at all four classes is required to receive credit if you are on the lay servant pathway. PLEASE NOTE: There is no charge for this class – you will need to obtain or borrow the UM Book of Worship, the UM Book of Discipline, and the UM Hymnal. All are available in Kindle version from Amazon and in paper version from Cokesbury (844) 291-7803. (Please allow plenty of time for delivery). Additional required reading is available on-line: This Holy Mystery; By Water and the Spirit; and the Lectionary: UMCDiscipleship.org.

Registration deadline is Friday, July 30th. (Class is limited to 15 participants.)
