On November 5^th and 6^th, the West Virginia Conference Treasurer’s Office will be hosting a virtual Pre-retirement/financial wellness seminar.

This seminar will be held as a video conference and participants will be able to ask questions of the presenters. Members of Wespath, WV SHIP, and E&Y financial advisors will be presenting.

The seminar will consist of 3 sessions:

• The morning session, on November 5^th will focus on Clergy retirement,
• the afternoon session on the 5^th will focus on financial wellness and retirement preparation,
• the morning session on November 6^th will be specifically for laity participating in the United Methodist Personal Investment Plan (UMPIP) or laity thinking of participating in the UMPIP.

To participate in this event, you must register through the Conference website and you will need to register for each of the 3 sessions that you want to attend.

By registering for the clergy pre-retirement session, Wespath will be able to provide you individualized retirement information prior to the pre-retirement seminar which will enhance your ability to get informed about your retirement options.

Registration for the event closes on October 27, 2020.

Anyone within 5 years of their anticipated retirement date should attend this seminar; however, it is open to anyone interested in learning more about retirement planning.

Currently, the Treasurer’s Office does not anticipate being able to hold another pre-retirement seminar prior to the next Annual Conference, so you are strongly encouraged to take advantage of this opportunity.
