We believe that holy, healthy, loving faith communities can offer life and hope thru Christ in every place.
Holy, healthy, loving faith communities that spread the gospel of Jesus Christ are the goal of congregational development. These churches can be large or small, urban, small town, rural, new and old.
Across WV and Garrett County, MD, less than 20% of the population is connected to a faith community in any significant way. We believe that holy, healthy, loving faith communities can offer life and hope thru Christ in every place. We work to design resources to help congregations build healthy systems to reach new people.
We believe in teamwork and members of our team are present as connection points to build network of relationships and resources. Almost every process we offer involves building a team because we think that Jesus’ original team of 12 did a pretty awesome job of creating a transformational movement. So, don’t be surprised if we tell you to bring some friends to the stuff we do. You’ll help each other remember what’s said and remind each other to do things differently. Did we mention that we’re really serious about loving, learning and leading in teams?
You’ll find many resources in these pages that your church can use. If you don’t see what you’re looking for, please ask. Your questions help us look for new tools and allow us to network our churches that are doing great ministries with those who are looking for advice. Please get in touch with Ken Willard, Director of Discipleship, Leadership and Congregational Development or Les Fish, chair of the Congregational Development team.
We also have a growing list of really good books that could be great for your leadership team.
Here’s a list. But check back often because we read a lot:
