Luke Edwards: Fresh Expressions in Appalachian Context

By WVUMC News

The West Virginia Conference is pleased to welcome Luke Edwards for a day of learning about creating generative ministries in our specifically Appalachian context. The author of Becoming Church: A Trail Guide for Starting Fresh Expressions, Luke will help us contextualize how fresh expressions can take hold within the distinctive opportunities and challenges of Appalachian culture.

November 12, 2022 from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM

John XXIII Pastoral Center
100 Hodges Road
Charleston, WV 25314

Luke Edwards brings a practical aspect to the movement of starting new places for new people. As a Conference, many of our communities are small in population and the majority of people in these communities are not active in any type of church. We believe God is calling us to try something new to build relationships with those individuals and families. This session is one of many steps we are providing to equip, support, and resource pastors and laity to reach new people.

You are encouraged to register now for this exciting time of learning and equipping us as leaders to create New Places for New People. But don’t come alone … prayerfully discern someone else in your ministry circle to come along with you.

The cost for this session is $20 and includes lunch and a copy of the book.
