Glory Sighting: DaySpring 2022!

By WV UMC Admin

Hip Hip Hooray!

DaySpring connects communities to churches, churches to camp, and campers to Christ. The summer of 2022 brought DaySpring to thirteen locations throughout the West Virginia Conference, reaching from Huntington to Keyser and Princeton to Grafton. We connected with 449 campers and over 200 volunteers- sharing the love of God each time we unpacked nine-square, a gaga pit, and Bible Study materials! Thank you to all the volunteers who showed up to play, pray, and connect with kids in their communities.

Quotes from our awesome campers:

  • “DaySpring was the best week of my life.”
  • “I wish DaySpring lasted all summer.”
  • “I made so many friends at DaySpring.”
  • “I loved making new friends and learning about God.”
  • “Everyone is so kind and nice and I loved coming to camp.”

We’re also celebrating a generous grant award from the United Methodist Foundation that is supporting the ministry with $22,500! WOW! This money will go towards purchasing new transportation so we can continue to connect communities with churches, churches to camp, and campers to Christ. Be on the lookout for new vans to transport our staff next summer!

Thank you, United Methodist Foundation, for supporting our mobile camp ministry!
