Donations for Flood Relief

By WV UMC Admin

In light of recent flooding in West Virginia, we want to clarify the Church Remittance and Individual Remittance for all charitable donations for both West Virginia and the Kentucky floods.  Please read the following information carefully:

West Virginia Flooding:

Donations should be made through your local Church.  Church Treasurers will then remit to our office with a church remittance form, earmarked for Fund 920 “WV Flood Relief”.  Make checks payable to:

Conference Treasurer
PO Box 2469
Charleston, WV 25329

Individuals unable to go through the local church you may contribute online at https://wvumcweb.myshelby.org/.  Click GIVE at top of the page; Click on Give Online (far right blue box); then follow the prompts.  You will be able to print a receipt for tax records.

Kentucky Flooding:

Contributions can be made payable to: Kentucky Annual Conference of the United Methodist Church

and mailed to:

Kentucky Annual Conference
Attn:  Treasurer
7400 Floydsburg Road
Crestwood, KY 40014

On the memo line of your check, please put:  KY Disaster Response #200902.

Any contributions that we receive in our office for Kentucky flooding will be handled as follows:

If the Church Remittance form says UMCOR Kentucky those funds will go directly to UMCOR Fund #110 “Disaster Response United States”.

If the Church Remittance form says “Kentucky Flood” those funds will be processed using Fund #923 and will be sent directly to the Kentucky Annual Conference.

If you have any questions or need any additional information, please feel free to contact Paula Koontz at 1-800-788-3746 x40 or Myra Bess x41.
