August 7: Campus Ministry Sunday!

By Shea James

Who helped you discern God’s call?

Where were you challenged to step into leadership?

When did you first lead a Bible Study or small group?

For many of us throughout the West Virginia Conference, the answer to these questions involves campus ministry. Our Campus Pastor asked, “Do you think God is calling you to serve?” Our peers recognized our potential and encouraged us to lead during a mission trip. And it was campus ministry that gave us the chance to lead a small group of people, asking them, “Is it well with your soul?”

These are just a few examples of how campus ministry bridges the church to the college campus. During a crucial time of life, students are given the opportunity to find community, grow as leaders, and discern God’s call. Campus Ministries challenge students to be lifelong disciples of Jesus Christ and give them the tools to take faith out into the world.

Your support of campus ministry helps provide mission trips, food pantries, leadership training, free hot lunches, and retreats. Campus ministry is invaluable, and your support makes it possible!

If you would like to support campus ministry financially, donate through your local church. The church treasurer then sends a check payable to Conference Treasurer, along with a Church Remittance Form with Code 766.
