Kenova UMC Celebrates Seventeen Newly Confirmed Youth

On Palm Sunday, April 10, 2022, Kenova United Methodist Church, 503 15th Street, Kenova, WV, witnessed 17 of their youth being confirmed after completing confirmation class under the leadership of Randy Maynard, Interim Pastor, and Faith Wilks, Education Chairperson and Sunday School Director. In addition to their 10 weeks of Bible study and preparation, the youth participated in a mission trip and a retreat.

For their mission trip, they chose Heart + Hand Outreach Ministry in South Charleston, which is a United Methodist sponsored non-profit agency that provides aid to those in need through the giving of food, clothing, and financial aid. The youth spent the day sorting and hanging clothing. The staff at Heart + Hand Outreach Ministry praised the youth for their outstanding work.

The Youth also had a retreat at Asbury Camp to enhance and strengthen their walk with the Lord. Then on Palm Sunday, the youth and their families were treated to a homemade breakfast. During the worship service, the youth were confirmed, and two youth were baptized. It was a wonderful day!

We give God the glory for these wonderful young people, their families, and the leadership of Pastor Randy and Faith.

Kenova UMC is Thankful for their Faithful Acolyte

A big Thank you to Ben Sanders who has been our acolyte for the in-person worship services for over a year. As Pastor Randy says, Ben should be inducted into the Acolyte Hall of Fame. And as a congregation, we all agree.

Thank you to Ben for bringing the Light of Christ into our worship service each week and reminding us to carry the Light of Christ into the world at the end each service. Thank you, Ben, for your faithfulness.
