Serve at Summer Camp!

By Shea James

Making disciples, growing leaders, changing the world – one camper at a time.

Part of what I love about camp ministry is that its impact is far-reaching. Campers are changed when they encounter Christ at camp, and summer staff and volunteers grow as leaders when they are allowed to serve. We could tell you why you should work at camp, but our past staff does a far better job!

Working at Spring Heights was one of the most rewarding summers of my life. It is an incredible experience to be welcomed into a community dedicated to spreading God’s love and get to share that passion with youth from around the conference. No two days are the same, and the staff feels more like family than coworkers. As part of the DaySpring staff, I got to travel the state and connect with dozens of volunteers, laypeople, and pastors who gave their time and talents to help young people grow and make camp a success. Not to mention the hundreds of campers I met who made me laugh, think, play (lose) gaga ball, and grow in my own faith. Spring Heights changes the lives of anyone lucky enough to get to be a part of it, and I am grateful for all of the memories, friendships, and opportunities it brought me.
