Reggie McNeal returns to WVUMC

By WVUMC News

The WV Conference Board of Global Ministries and Conference Congregational Vitality have combined to bring Reggie McNeal noted author and church consultant to West Virginia on August 18 and 19.  The two-day workshop will be held at the Days Inn Conference Center in Flatwoods.

Reggie is encouraging pastors to attend with a couple of lay members of their congregation/charge.  The workshop will be focused on two areas: moving our focus from internal focus to external focus (from church-centric to Kingdom-centric) and what it takes to lead this type of change.  The workshop will include time to build concrete steps in moving in this direction.

There will also be a follow up to this event by placing pastors in small groups to encourage one another, to share ideas and to be supportive in the struggles of transition.  The group will gather again on February 16 & 17, 2022 to learn about the next steps to take in becoming a Kingdom Centric congregation.

In preparation (so our time is most beneficial) Reggie is asking pastors to read the book Kingdom Come.  Lay people can read the book or at least listen to Reggie’s April podcasts to have a working knowledge of the concepts before the workshop begins.

The cost is $50 and covers the event, dinner on Wednesday, and lunch on Thursday that will be working times.  Rooms are available at Days Inn at a reduced rate (mention that you are with the House of the Carpenter) until July 31st.   The registration link is below:
