A great outreach idea!

Rev. Jim and Jennifer Plyburn filled Care Bags for the children and placed them inside the Little Free Library at South Parkersburg United Methodist Church.

Church families were sent a message inviting the parents to stop by and get newly stocked books for their children and themselves, as well as a Care Bag for each child.

The Care Bags contain a children’s bulletin and several activity sheets, a St. Patrick’s Day family devotion and craft, a glittery green shamrock, and a small bag of Lucky Charms cereal.

The bags will be replaced each week with a new theme and contents. This is just one way we hope to reach out to the youngest members of our church family, as we practice “social distancing” during the Coronavirus threat.

Sunday worship and special music is being offered Live via Facebook and also accessible on the church website. Rev. Plyburn and church members are spending time in prayer and making daily phone calls not only to the elderly members of the congregation but to all members and friends.
