Spring Heights Christmas Camp 2019

By Shea James

Spring Heights Camp and Retreat Center celebrated Christmas Camp December 13-15.

Campers decorated Christmas cookies, ornaments, and gingerbread houses. They enjoyed a chilly wagon ride and warmed-up with hot cocoa. While campers participated in games and met new friends, the focus of Christmas Camp was the Christ-child.

Campers continued to learn about the Peace of Christ (the theme from summer camp) and were encouraged to work towards peace on earth. They closed the weekend with worship, communion, and explored Mary’s song found in Luke 1:46-55.

Summer staff and campers were welcomed “home” for the weekend. Everyone wore their tacky Christmas sweaters. Campers enjoyed gathering around fires, playing games, and plenty of craft time. They roasted s’mores, sang camp songs, and even wrapped up their counselors in wrapping paper!

Christmas camp was a wonderful opportunity for campers to reconnect. Spring Heights is excited for the Summer 2020 camping season, we hope to see you there! Registration opens on February 1st. For more pictures from Christmas camp, or to check out the summer schedule visit www.springheights.org
