The WV Conference United Methodist Women Annual Meeting will be held on Friday, October 25th and Saturday, October 26th at Trinity United Methodist Church (401 College Avenue in Bluefield, WV).
The 2019 Annual Meeting theme is “Making the Future” and our keynote speaker is Shannon Priddy. A former Peace Corps volunteer, flight attendant and nonprofit fundraiser, Priddy is currently the President of the board of the United Methodist Women. At 42, she is one of the youngest members to serve in this role- a fact that sends a strong message as United Methodist Women seeks to draw new generations to its ranks. Says Priddy “This isn’t just your mother’s or grandmother’s group. It is for all women, of all ages, who want to put their passion to work, from social justice to advocating for others.”
In 2019, United Methodist Women marks its 150th year. While Priddy believes this is a milestone to be celebrated, she devotes her efforts to promoting the next 150 years. In particular, she has been targeting younger women to get involved through conferences and mentorships with longtime members. “We offer countless opportunities at every level of our organization” Priddy explains. “Let’s use our stories to inspire others. Do not hide your light under a bushel. Make it shine and make a difference.”
Welcome/Registration will be open Friday, October 25th (1:00pm – 5:00pm) and Saturday, October 26th (7:30am – 8:30am).
Session I (Friday at 6:30pm) will include Special Music, Candle Burn Offering, Communion, Memorial Service, our Keynote Speaker and a Reception. The offering will be a Love Gift for Church and Community Workers.
Session II (Saturday at 8:45am) will include the President’s Message, Special Music, Pledge Service, Special Mission Recognition, Mission Moment, Recognition of Outgoing Officers and the Business Session. An offering will be taken for a Brighter Future for Children and Youth

Mary’s Cradle: receiving blankets, quilted/crocheted baby blankets, crib-size blankets, layette extras (nail clippers, pacifiers, rattles, teethers, hand mitts), baby bath towels, burp cloths, infant clothing (socks, gowns), baby clothing (newborn-6 months), toddler clothing & underwear (3T-4T), infant supplies (baby wash, lotion, oil, diaper rash cream, wipes, no baby powder!), bouncy seats, swings, high chairs, pack-n-play, bassinets and car seats (new only).
Blessings in a Backpack: (veinna sausage, ramen noodles, granola bars, oatmeal (individual packets), mac-n-cheese, soup (tomato and chicken noodle), ravioli, nabs, fruit cups (applesauce), fruit snacks and pudding.
