Bishop Sandra Steiner Ball has announced the appointment of Rev. Loretta Isaiah as the Conference Superintendent assigned to the Little Kanawha District effective July 1, 2019.
Loretta is pastor of Aldersgate UMC, Sissonville and before that served St Andrew, St Albans; Humphrey’s, Dunbar; as Associate Pastor at Christ Church, Charleston; and Ballah-Monumental. She is a graduate of the Methodist Theological School of Ohio, where she met her husband, Rev. Dr. Ravi Isaiah, who serves full time as the Director of Spiritual Care at Charleston Area Medical Center. Together they have two adult daughters, Jamiela and Colleen.
“Loretta is a leader deeply committed to spiritual formation and helping people to grow more deeply in love with Christ,” said Bishop Steiner Ball. “She has a deep love of the West Virginia Conference, its clergy and laity. Loretta has served in a variety of leadership positions in the Conference in her 30-plus years of ministry. She is mission minded and discipleship focused. She is a team player and I look forward to the excitement, passion, creativity and wisdom she will bring with her as a member of my cabinet and Superintendent of the Little Kanawha District.”
“Loretta has a deep spiritual life that has been shaped the Shalem Institute and a contemplative orientation to pastoral work,” remarked Dean of the Cabinet Rev. Joe Kenaston. “She also brings a passion for Christ and the church to her role as a Superintendent. Her experience in multiple pastoral settings will enrich her leadership in the Little Kanawha District. She has a wonderful sense of humor and spirit of adventure. It is a joy to welcome her to the Cabinet.”
