Joe Hill to become Midland South District Superintendent

By WVUMC News

Bishop Sandra Steiner Ball has announced that current Conference Superintendent Joe Hill will be welcomed to an assignment with the Midland South District beginning July 1, 2019.

“Joe has faithfully and enthusiastically served the Little Kanawha District for the last two years with wisdom, care, generosity of spirit and a good sense of humor,” said Bishop Steiner Ball. “He now brings those gifts to his new assignment on the Midland South District. Joe empowers laity as well as clergy, helping people to understand that ministry and mission is a partnership that must be nurtured so that together we can be all that God created and designed us to be individually and as a Church.”

“Joe did great work in empowering the pastors and lay leaders of the Little Kanawha District to see the joy and opportunities of being a part of a connectional church,” said Rev. Joe Kenaston, Dean of the Cabinet. “He utilized the District Lead Team in rethinking how the district can support the effort of creating vital congregations who are engaged with their communities. I am overjoyed that he will continue to convey his enthusiasm for Christ and his creativity as a conference superintendent and a member of the Cabinet.”

“Joe is a spiritual leader who helps people see the possibilities, gives people hope, and helps people to know Christ and lead people to Christ,” Bishop Steiner Ball added. “I look forward to Joe’s continued leadership as part of the West Virginia Cabinet.”
