17 months after our June 23, 2016 storms, the West Virginia Conference Disaster Recovery team is still hard at work, helping families rebuild their lives and homes.
A home built by the Fred Eberle Career Center in Buckhannon was purchased in June, and is finally making its way to Clendennin. In the gallery you’ll see pictures of RC Contractors installing the siding on the ends of this home. Through the efforts of Buck Edwards and the WV United Methodist Disaster Recovery Ministry, we bought this home for a survivor family in Clendenin.
We were required to elevate the home 9’, and a skilled crane operator with finesse lifted the two sections of the home onto the foundation. RC has joined the roof and floor joist systems. Some interior work remains, and we expect to have a house blessing to welcome this family “home” before Christmas! Hats off to disaster case manager Miranda Nabers and construction coordinator Chad Faris.
