The West Virginia Annual Conference of The United Methodist Church envisions all people on a journey of Christ-like holiness.
To be holy is to belong to God, to be filled by God, and to serve God.
Spiritual Growth and Formation
To Belong to God
Under the guidance of the Holy Spirit, we will resource and equip persons in their journey toward Christ-like holiness by strengthening all baptized Christians for ministry: acknowledging the need for repentance, affirming the giftedness of all, living at peace with one another, and striving for biblical faithfulness.
Servant Leadership
To Be Filled by God
We believe that all baptized Christians are continually called to ministry, and we will work to develop gifts and grace for servant leadership. As a connectional body of persons who are growing toward Christ-like holiness, we will enhance these gifts through intentional opportunities for covenant discipleship, mutual accountability, and invitations to discover and accept our various callings to servant leadership.
Fulfilling the Church's Mission and Ministry
To Serve God
Our journey of Christ-like holiness drives us into ministry in the world with all people. With open hearts and open churches, we invite all to know Jesus through a heart-warming experience of God's grace. As the servant people of God, we enter into relationships that do justice, fight oppression of any kind, provide relief from burdens, and take seriously the people and needs of the community in which God has placed us. We function as faithful stewards of our world, our church, our lives, and our resources so that God is glorified and Christ is lifted up.
