Campus Ministries

Campus Ministries

A United Methodist campus minister or chaplain may be an ordained deacon, an ordained elder, or a layperson with specialized training. If clergy, they are appointed by a bishop to their posts. Campus ministers usually serve schools that are not related to the church, or as special staff of United Methodist-related research institutions. They are paid by the church through the annual conference budget or a local entity.
