Unity Dinner to Benefit WVCC
West Virginia native Kathy Mattea will perform Thursday, Sept. 16 at the Clay Center in Charleston in a benefit concert for the West Virginia Council of Churches (WVCC).

The WVCC was chosen by Governor Manchin last April to administer the Montcoal Mine
Disaster Fund. The fund raised more than $750,000 for the families of the miners
lost and injured in a massive April 5 explosion at the Upper Big Branch Mine near
Montcoal, W.Va. The United Methodist Foundation of West Virginia continues to provide
administrative support to the fund at no charge to the WVCC.
Individual tickets are $75 and can be purchased through the WVCC website or
by calling the Council of Churches at 304-344-3141.
